This lovely little friend was running around my house the other day. I actually thought he was a toy at first. Imagine my shriek of surprise when he made a little dash. He is between 12 and 14 inches long, and I think he is very pretty
Do you remember the first time we saw a horney-toad in Arizona? We thought it was a toy too. Do you also remember the old man who would pay us a bag of popcorn for every horney-toad we found and gave to him for his garden? Think of the bugs your new friend could eat in your back yard? You could have all the kids in the hood bringing you similar bug killers for only small bags of popcorn a day...
The challenges in life, in general and motherhood, specifically can be compared to alligator wrestling. The feat is arduous and sometimes painful. I always wish for, at least one other hand. When, or if, I survive the ordeal, it will have been well won and my greatest achievement. I will most assuredly come out of the pit muddy, bruised, exhausted and above all beaming with pride at my successes. It will all be well worth the fight!!
