ZOMBIES-A Party To Die For!!

The men in my house are obsessed with zombies.  They read books about them, they watch movies about them, they watch television series about them, they plan running races from them, they share theories about the zombie apocalypse and design weapons and escape plans to use against them...in a whole, they are zombie nuts.  I still prefer a shirtless werewolf, myself, but aside from me zombies are all the rage in this house.

Keeping this in mind we planned a fun and exciting surprise birthday party for Jasen!  We invited a bunch of kids over to the house where they used gallons of stage blood, Halloween makeup, prosthetic gashes and gore to transform themselves into the walking dead.  (Ben had Jasen out in town...doing "in town" stuff.)  Michael used caution tape all over the front porch and left a large Nerf gun, filled with ammo, and a sign that read,

QUARANTINE
Enter At Your Own Risk
The US Department of Infectious Diseases
The Center for Disease Control

As Ben and Jasen pulled into the driveway all the kids scattered throughout the house, covered all the windows and turned off the lights.  I flipped on a smoke machine and some scary music and then I hid in my bedroom and listened through my bedroom door.

Jasen strolled up to the house and read the sign.  He looked at Ben , a huge smile spread across his face and he pushed through the caution tape, armed himself with his new Nerf gun and cracked open the door.  Ben followed behind him with a video camera.

Carnage followed as he went from one room to another, shooting his zombified friends with Nerf darts.  Zombies were everywhere...the shower, the pantry, even on top of a storage shelf in the basement.  They stalked towards him with moans and eerie screams as they reached out for his living flesh.

He cleared the house of zombies in a manner of minutes, the entire time giggling with glee.  (I swear I haven't heard him giggle like that for at least 10 years.)  Then everyone gathered on the back deck, yelled surprise and ate lots of eye-ball cupcakes and hoagie sandwiches and watched scary movies!  It was a great party...definitely one to die for!

Even the littles got in on the action!!  Spooky!

Happy Birthday, my Zombie huntin' hunk-o-boy!!  Love you!
